Apprenticeship Programmes are now recognised as being the Gold standard for work based training and gives students first hand experience working in a salon whilst learning. Apprenticeships programmes put students above class room based learners, as they are gaining skills required to work, before they have completed their course.
The apprenticeship course requires students to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week at a minimum hourly rate of £3.30. You will attend college 1 day every other week, for 7 hours. Leaving 23 hours salon based work. You can join our apprenticeship programme at any point in the year, on our roll on / roll off scheme, as well as being entitled to 4 weeks paid holiday for the duration of the course.
The NVQ Level 2 course content includes:
- Facial & skin care
- Manicure & pedicure
- Wax depilation
- Eyelash & brow tinting, shaping & false lashes
- Cosmetic make up
- Reception duties
- Customer care, health & safety
- Related anatomy & physiology
In addition, we have Dermalogica and Steiner representatives come to the academy and do workshops with the students.
On the course you will have to complete assignments, written exams, group work and final assessments.On successful completion of the course you will gain an NVQ Level 2 beauty therapy qualification and a Beautec Diploma.It is a requirement that you have a good level of written & spoken english and a GCSE in English Language Grade C or above.
